I am so excited that people are starting to become
more aware of what they eat, what they are feeding their children and
how so many different types of food (that we thought were healthy
"enough") are effecting our health and the health of our children. I
think people are starting to see the BIG picture and now with GE’s
“Healthymagination” Initiative, Pledge For Better Health, in support of
National Women’s Health Week, May 9th-15th, 2010, they too are helping
in the movement. Everyone can do their part by taking the pledge too,
just as I did!
GE is hoping to encourage women to take an
active role in their own health, and the health of their loved ones
through the Pledge For Better Health. I took my pledge....
“I pledge continue to keep my family healthy by feeding them healthy foods daily!”
It's hard even for me, but I know with
educating myself and family on what is healthy for us we can do it. I
encourage everyone to buy locally and in season, if you can't buy all
organic (who really can) do the best with what you have in your
community. Support local farming and also grow your own garden, even if
it's small. You and your children will take pride in what you have
achieved and will be more apt to eat it. Let me tell you, there is
nothing better then a tomato from the garden.
I would like to encourage everyone to take
the Pledge For Better Health as well! Together we can motivate women
everywhere to live healthier lifestyles and feel good about themselves.
